A love-letter unread

We all have unanswered loves, here a letter I sent almost half a year ago to a girl I once loved. Never received a reply. As she never did read it, I thought I’d just upload it here, so at least someone can enjoy my writing.

Dearest ***,
If you’re reading this, I was standing in front of your door, but you weren’t home, or I was too much of a chicken to knock. I wanted to see you before I went to Salou, because the truth is, I am hopelessly and helplessly in love with you.

I should’ve said something a long time ago, but every time I tried, something came between us, take last Friday for example, or when I did get the chance, I simply lost my words in your eyes.

If I ever deny believing in love at first sight, then you can call me a liar, for I recall exactly the first time we met, and I still remember how, the first time you ever touched my hand, I thought my heart would explode.

Because I never could bring up the courage to speak out to you, I thought I could forget you, I thought I could get over it, but every time I hear your voice, every time I see your picture, every time I read your name, I’m the little boy that daren’t sit besides the beautiful girl in front of the class again.

Your smile can make my day, your voice is all I need. Even if I’d be poor, friendless and irrecoverably ill, you’d still be able to lighten my day.

***, I am in love with you, therefore I’m writing this letter, to let you know.

I hope you feel the same, I’m leaving for Salou from the Olympic Stadium next morrow at ten, I’ll be back the 22nd.

May I have the honour of you feeling the same, call me (phone no.:***), text me, e-mail me, or find me (address:***), I hope to hear from you soon, because I miss you terribly.

Truly yours,

Roberto Strife
