Has love perished?

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Sometimes, love is a struggle, often one without a winner, but at least people used to keep on fighting, but nowadays people give up so easily, a relationship should be “exciting” according to Cosmo, but they also forget the most important thing, they should be filled with kindness, laughter, understanding and most of all love, though good sex wouldn’t be abundant either.

But these days, people say I love you to every idiot that walks by. They’ve forgotten that saying I love you is the most beautiful thing someone can say or hear, an ex of mine told me she loved me within the first day of dating. That’s not love, it’s like! All of you fools are diminishing its meaning.

Furthermore, people are even abbreviating love nowadays, it’s ILU this and I  U that, now I don’t fancy the use of U in you’s stead, but to make an L out of LOVE, the most important word in the English language!? Are you kidding me?

The dictionary tells love to be: A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.

Is there anyone left who understands these kind of feelings that lie deepest in the heart? Or are we all doomed to live our lives without ever experiencing true love?
